Ariel's Song

I find no words to describe this day of glittering ocean and even blue sky. Instead I shall quote Ariel from The Tempest, who sings comforting of a sea-change. Alfred Deller sings the song beautifully – I can only render the words:

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of this bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell.
Hark, now I hear them, ‘ding dong bell’.
