And Another Piece of Cake

The children’s first day of primary school is a festive event all over Greenland and is celebrated with coffee, cakes and other food things. Lots and lots of delicious cakes are piled up on kitchen tables for everyone to indulge in, as was the case in Chili Andrea’s house. Mum and Dad served muffins; apple pie; cream cakes; chocolate cake and cardamom cake, and I’ve probably left out some. However Jesper and I began the meal with Allan’s mouth-watering mulligatawny soup that we had never heard of before, but surely hope to come across again some time.
