... is almost as unusual as horses in Sisimiut. Nonetheless, we have four of the Icelandic ponies brought here from Kangerlussuaq, where they used to carry the tourists around. Now they mostly grass and are occasionally seen trotting in a neatly line along the roads and streets. This is when they escape their paddock. They have just been moved to a spot which is on our way when we go to feed our dogs, so I took a snapshot.
My friend Kirsten has told me that the flower I took to be an orchid is in fact a Large-flowered Wintergreen. Thanks a lot, Kirsten :o)
